For the 10th year in a row, I photographed Cornell University’s annual fashion show. According to the Cornell Fashion Collective’s website:

The Cornell Fashion Collective, formerly the Cornell Design League, is a student-run organization that provides members of the Cornell community with an outlet to express creativity in fashion and fashion management. Each spring, our organization presents a professional runway show featuring the talent of students who both design apparel and manage the operations of the show. Our organization gives students, both undergraduate and graduate, the opportunity to practice design, demonstrate their talents, and learn how to produce a large-scale fashion event.

As I have mentioned in the past, although I enjoy photographing the show itself (you can see those photos), I especially enjoy capturing candid photos of the designers and models getting ready for the show backstage before the actual show.

I just noticed it’s been a couple of years since my “infamous” Underwear at 50 photo shoot! Sometimes I take a glance back at the photos and usually I decide there are lots I don’t like. I just noticed this one that I kinda liked this time around (click it to see it against a dark background):

It’s got a different “feel” to it than the one I posted originally from this particular shot location.

Maybe it’s because I didn’t think this one was “comical” enough? I’m not sure.

It’s pretty common for me to go back to sets of photos I took in the past with “fresh eyes” and see photos I like that I didn’t like the first or even second time around. Strange phenomenon…:p

This past weekend I photographed the fashion show at Cornell University for the 10th year in a row. This may have been my last year doing it; I don’t know.

In any case, over the past 10 years of photographing Cornell’s fashion show (which is always in the Spring..March or April), I usually have the most fun with the back stage photos because they’re typically unposed and can yield unpredictable (and sometimes humorous) circumstances and juxtapositions.

So here–for the tenth year in a row–are my back stage photos for the year’s Cornell fashion show:
